The lower doors, fall front and frieze drawer veneered in panels of large-figured mahogany edged in gilt bronze fillets with ebony borders, the corners with columns with inlaid brass flutes below plain gilt-bronze plaques; tapered cylindrical feet with urn-form sabots and gilt-bronze collars, the lower cabinet doors opening to reveal three drawers veneered in acajou moucheté, banded in brass; the fall front with a green leather writing surface with tooled gold borders, the interior fitted with two open shelves above a central square drawer flanked by inlaid brass and ebony pyramids and two sets of three drawers, with concealed locking mechanism and secret drawer, the lower right drawer with silvered-metal inkwell, sander, and sponge box; the frieze drawer with bail handles with hexagonal terminals, marble top with pierced brass gallery.
