Kangxi period, 17th century
Height: 18 3/4 inches (47.6 cm.)
The tall vase of lower, elongated oval form rising to the tall, cylindrical neck with flared rim, supported on a flat, unglazed base. Decorated in underglaze blue. Painted on the body with a wide band containing a dense ruyi pattern above a wide leaf border, the neck with slender stiff leaves beneath pendant ornaments suspended from a further wide, densely decorated band.
The elegant design on this heavily potted vase is highly unusual. The elongated form as well as the design suggests that it was made for export to the Near East. In good condition.
