The large painting of a lady of cultivated upbringing in a vibrant garden setting paused in front of a tall blossoming tree. Dressed in a long black robe with gilt highlights over a soft peach colored, high-collared tunic, a pair of red cloth shoes peaking out from the skirt, the left arm positioned crossing the waist and gingerly balancing a slender pipe between long fingers. The head turned to the right in an alluring over the shoulder glance with a delicately painted face, featuring a pair of bright eyes and high cheekbones, the hair elegantly coiffed and fastened by an elaborate jeweled pin. A pair of small quail gathered at her feet. Mounted on yellow silk.
