A Pair of Famille Verte Enameled Porcelain Chargers

Each thickly molded with a wide, canted rim flange surrounding a shallow, recessed well and painted in vivid colors with black outlines to depict birds and insects amid flowering branches on a rocky shoreline and water weeds rising from rippling water, the boats sailing between rocky islands on the reverse rendered in similar hues and the recessed base painted in underglaze blue with a louts plant mark within a double ring.

Provenance: One charger bearing the circular paper label printed ‘Chait Galleries New York.’
