PROVENANCE: Anonymous Collection, sold, Christie’s East, New York, June 4, 1985, lot 488

painted with a sportsman and his sweetheart seated on the ground and toasting each other with wine glasses, two dogs seated at their feet before distant Italianate buildings, the cavetto with a grisaille and gilt cup-and-ball border, and the rim with a gilt shell-and-foliate-scroll border.
