Reference#: P9205

Late Ming dynasty (1368-1644)

Height: 10 inches (25.4 cm.)

The representation of the god of war seated on a high green enameled plinth with one leg raised, one hand held on the knee and one held to the chest. Dressed in a long, flowing robe featuring a finely rendered dragon on the belly over crisply defined, scaled armor, with details picked out in green. The face, with long, thin mustache and beard, held straight and glaring intensely at the viewer. A small tortoise entwined with a snake crawls across the front of the plinth.
